LVMH, founded in 1987 with a merger between Moet Hennessy and Louis Vuitton and headquartered in Paris, employs over 145,000 people across the globe and last year had annual revenue of over 42 billion Euros.

New Sydney Distribution Centre

At their new distribution centre, LVMH has installed unique warehouse safety barriers that are not only Worksafe compliant under the relevant OH+S legislation but are also compliant with many of the rigorous strength and safety provisions of the Temporary Fencing and Hoarding provisions of the Australian Standards.

Why Choose Our Safety Barriers?

ATDC’s uniquely robust and easy-to-operate expandable barriers have been fitted with a commercial-grade shade cloth backing which serves not only as a privacy screen but also provides some degree of protection against wind, vermin and dust which would otherwise be an ongoing hazard for a company that prides itself on the highest quality, upmarket luxury merchandise.

For other applications of these barriers see our article.

What’s in Our Range?

ATDC’s range of warehouse barriers are available in either steel or aluminium; they can be lockable to side walls or floors; they are trackless, portable and mobile and operate on a series of heavy-duty bottom thermoplastic castors that consist of a non-marking compound, making them suitable to run on any floor surface. For further information see our range of security fencing.

TRACKLESS BARRIERS SECURE BOND STORES, FACTORY WAREHOUSES, FREIGHT DEPOTS & LOGISTICS DISTRIBUTION CENTRES

ATDC is a market leader in the area of trackless barriers with its independently audited and OH+S assessed mobile systems.

Suited for a large range of applications these barriers are ideal to secure entry to bond stores, factory warehouses, freight and distribution centres and bulk goods storage areas.

Ideally installed at a height of either 2m or 2.5m,these lockable barriers are completely mobile and relocatable –a versatile and effective loss prevention system and access control tool.

Crowd Control Barriers at Train Stations

In Sydney, major train station expansions at Wynyard, Central, Barrangaroo and the Northwest Metro Line are typical examples of this fairly recent phenomenon.(See article by Carolyn Cummins.) Similarly, airports and hospitals (transit hubs with a captive market) are proving to be the new frontier for retailers.

ATDC has supplied its crowd control barriers to secure permanent and pop-up retail at Central Station and Wynyard as well as securing thousands of square metres of retail space at both Sydney and Melbourne International and Domestic Airports.

Ease of Use and Compliance with OH+S

ATDC’s crowd control barriers are safe and easy to operate, having been tested against the relevant OH+S legislation and NATA tested against the Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding. This includes dynamic impact testing and simulated climbing.

Amenities for Modern Businesses

These crowd control barriers are trackless, portable and flexible. Since they are modular, they can span unlimited width apertures (at any angle) without the need for any removable mullions.

Available in standard heights, they run on a series of heavy-duty non-marking thermoplastic bottom castors and have numerous wall-mounted and floor-fixed locking options.

Who are Australian Geographic?

The company continues to simultaneously invest in its digital and online prescence while rolling out this considerable investment in brick-and-mortar outlets across the country.

Which product did ATDC use?

The specified product is ATDC’s 300mm wide panel FC1 Folding Closure in a natural anodised finish, in many cases with radius curves to accommodate angled frontages and with seamless up/down locking mechanisms both at the extremities of the door as well down locking mechanisms to lock up intermediate sections of door.

Security Doors for Chemists and Pharmacies

ATDC is a leading supplier of security doors and roller shutters for chemists and pharmacies nationally across Australia.

Chemists and pharmacies are particularly vulnerable to break and enter attacks as many of them stock the commonly known pseudoephedrine which is used in the manufacture of the drug Speed.

Security Shutters and Roller Shutters

Security for Chemists and Pharmacies

ATDC has installed its security doors, security shutters and roller shutters for many of Australia’s well known branded chemists and pharmacies with household names like Amcal, Priceline, Discount Pharmacy Warehouse, Chemmart, Discount Drug Stores and many others.

ATDC’s trellis security doors are particularly appealing to chemists and pharmacies as they provide formidable security when locked and closed, given their high performance anti-jemmy 3 point locking system, full surround metal frame and heavy duty mesh inserts. When unlocked and opened, they retract sideways so as to be almost out of sight and invisible and so preserve display windows and merchandising displays.

Added Defence Options

These trellis security doors can also be installed in combination with bollards which serve as an added line of defence against attempted ram raids. ATDC’s S06 trellis security door has recently passed the stringent testing requirements for anti-jemmy and dynamic impact under Australian Standard 5039, which sets the benchmark for security doors in this country.

Available in a wide range of professional powder-coated finishes, ATDC’s engineers have developed a range of differently designed security doors which can also be manufactured in a curved configuration to meet the design requirements of curved apertures.

New Requirement for Medical Scripts for Codeine Leads to Upsurge in Break and Enters and a Focus on Pharmacy Security

Codeine is an opiate and is typically used to treat mild levels of pain, and is also used in the treatment of diarrhoea.  Pharmacy security has become increasingly important as a result of many recent break-ins targeting medicines containing Codeine.

From 1 Feb 2018, new government legislation came into effect requiring all products containing codeine to be sold in pharmacies with a medical script. This affects many well known household brands such as Panadeine and Nurofen Plus, for example, which now require a doctor’s script.

This decision was made by the Therapeutic Goods Administration on the basis that Codeine is an opioid drug and, as such, can cause opioid tolerance, dependence and even death.

Pharmacy Security

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC), a leading national Australian security door and barrier specialist supplier has recently seen a significant rise in enquiries for its shopfront security doors as a direct result of break and entry into pharmacies across the country.

Pharmacy clients are frequently commenting that this is a direct result of the new codeine related legislation making these codeine related products more valuable on the street for re-sale by criminal elements.

The sheer number of these enquiries has been noticeable, mainly involving pharmacists seeking advice on methods of deterring forced entry through the pharmacy shopfront doors/windows. Typical methods of forced entry include traditional smash and grab attempts, but also the more recent ramraiding technique using vehicles.

Pharmacies have traditionally been a natural target for criminals, given the nature of their stock, with high-value drugs such as pseudoephedrine being a typical example.

ATDC’s Solutions

ATDC has supplied its shopfront security doors to secure the premises of countless pharmacies across the country, having previously been a preferred supplier to the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

ATDC’s S06 shopfront security door is compliant with the Australian Standards for Sliding security doors, having been tested in an independent NATA laboratory against dynamic impact, anti-jemmy and pull force testing.

This security door is top hung with a full metal frame, secure locking and high tensile strength material. It folds back out of sight when not in use during trading hours and, as such, is an added bonus to retailers wishing to maximise visual display of merchandise.

ATDC has certain innovative side stack storage options to minimise the impact on retail space.

Australia’s Leading Barrier Security Specialists

ATDC’s full range of shopfront security doors are available for sale in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and across all regional towns in Australia. They are also available for export to the Pacific Islands, South East Asia, the Asia Pacific and the UAE. See further information on ATDC’s export business.

HEAVY DUTY & STRONG SECURITY ROLLER SHUTTERS INSTALLATION

Last Updated: April 2026

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its latest heavy-duty roller shutters at the prestigious Moriah College, a leading private school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. These heavy duty security roller shutters are large and can span a wide space.

ATDC’s Latest Installation at Moriah College

RS6 High Density Security Roller Shutters

These quality RS6 high-density roller shutters are complete with slimline overhead pelmet boxes and span six metres in one section without the need for unwieldy removable mullions.

Working closely with project managers Northcliff Construction Group, ATDC installed these heavy duty security roller shutters with their 77mm gauge heavy profile in a white powder-coated finish to blend in with the surrounding décor of the school premises. (A full powder-coat range is available to match the Dulux range.)

Advanced Features and Safety Precautions

Electrically operated with secure key switch operation, ATDC installed parachute safety brakes as an operational precaution given the large sizes of the shutters in a school location.

The shutters can also be remote-controlled for ease of convenience where this is a requirement by utilising high-tech satellite motors, satellite transmitters, and receivers. The shutters were installed with partly solid slats as well as some punched slats in order to achieve the necessary ventilation and free flow of air required for the application. Read on for further technical information.

Unique Advantages of the RS6 Shutters

ATDC’s RS6 High Density security shutter is the only security roller shutter on the Australian market with an enclosed pelmet box that can span such wide expanses in a single span. This is both an operational and cost-saving advantage for the customer. It also saves the customer from the cost of building in expensive bulkheads to conceal the otherwise unsightly open overhead roll. For further applications, read the article.

The Strongest Security Roller Shutters specified for Centenary Park Pavilion

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has successfully installed its double-walled extruded aluminium security roller shutters at Centenary Park Pavilion, a Glen Eira City Council managed property in Melbourne’s Bentleigh East. These Strong security roller shutters have many benefits.

Successful Installation of Strong Security Roller Shutters at Centenary Park Pavilion

Project Specifications

ATDC’s security roller shutters were specified by Mantric Architecture and were installed over both doorways and windows to the Pavilion as both a security device and as a means to protect the glass windows from the possibility of being damaged through impact from balls from the sports ground.

Compliance Requirements

Mantric Architecture had certain complying requirements before specifying ATDC’s RS3 shutters. The RS3 was capable of meeting all Mantric’s requirements as listed below:

1. They had to provide maximum strength and durability; the shutters are a double wall extrusion with a 44mm blade and heavy-duty extruded side rails to contain and secure the shutters.
2. The security roller shutters had to have the slimmest possible overhead pelmet boxes.
3. Shutters installed on corners were to have removable corner mullions.
4. They had to be electronically operated with group controls to permit multiple shutters to operate sequentially in banks or individually.
5. For access control purposes, these shutters had to have the ability to interface with Council’s internal computer security system, enabling their connection to the system management software used by Council.
6. The shutters needed to be powder-coated to match the colour scheme of the aluminium window frames at the Pavilion. (For further information on the RS3’s technical features, see ATDC’s website at RS3 Technical Features)

Wide Range of Applications

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) security roller shutters have been widely specified on Council Pavilions across Victoria for the very reasons listed above. They are also suitable for securing commercial and industrial applications, retail shopfronts and shopping centres, banks, medical centres, reception areas, canteens, bar counters, commercial and government buildings. They are also ideal for securing residential properties, particularly for windows, sliding doors, French doors, and patio doors.

Nationwide Availability

These cutting-edge security roller shutters are now available for supply and installation in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth, as well as Newcastle, Geelong, Townsville, and all regional towns across the country.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can heavy-duty roller shutters span wide openings without needing removable posts?

Yes, specific high-density models like the RS6 roller shutter made by the Australian Trellis Door Company are engineered to span up to 5.5 metres in a single section for electric operation, eliminating the need for unwieldy removable mullions while maintaining a slimline overhead profile.

Do heavy duty roller shutters provide protection against more than just unauthorised entry?

Beyond securing against break-ins and vandalism, these shutters are constructed from robust materials that offer excellent insulation to help manage internal temperatures and provide a physical barrier against weather, dust, and vermin.

Are security roller shutters custom-manufactured for specific project needs?

All ATDC roller shutters are custom-made to fit the exact dimensions and operational requirements of each site, whether for commercial shopfronts, school pavilions, or high-security areas like pharmacies.

Can heavy duty roller shutters be installed on corners?

For installations where the shutter must wrap around a corner, removable corner mullions can be utilised to maintain structural security while allowing for flexible opening designs.

COMPACT SECURITY GATES FOR REPCO PENRITH

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its high grade S06 security gates to secure the shopfront at Repco Penrith.

S06 Security Gates Provide Security for Automotive Retail Store

Who are Repco?

Repco is one of Australasia’s 25 most recognized brands. With more than 400 stores in Australia and New Zealand and employing more than 2000 staff, Repco is Australia’s largest reseller and supplier in the automotive parts and accessories aftermarket.

The Project

Working closely with Repco’s specifying architects as well as shopfitter Storebuild Pty Ltd out of Melbourne, ATDC were tasked with the challenge of designing a security gate solution that was compact and space efficient when unlocked and opened for trade. This security gate had to fold back and occupy a side storage area which was only 6% of the opening span of the shopfront.

ATDC’s Security Solution for Repco

ATDC’s design engineers were able to offer up their innovative side-by-side parallel top track configuration which literally halved the normal stacking sizes of their security gates. Further, by designing the doors in a bi-parting double leaf arrangement ATDC was able to neatly resolve the limited storage space challenge. By utilising a series of intermediate up/down locking mechanisms which alleviated the need for any floor tracks, a seamless lock up solution was provided. The scissor doors installed by ATDC were the ideal security option.

Other Options from ATDC

In addition ATDC are also able to offer up their unique side-by-side configuration for curved and angled shopfronts as well straight-line applications and this provides customers with further innovative design options when considering maximising visual display of merchandise for their retail stores. The maximum curve/angle that is operationally achievable is a 90 degree turn through a 600mm radius curve. See our recent project for DFS Group to learn more.

Customisable Security Options

ATDC’s compact security gates are available in standard black satin and white pearl powdercoated finishes although any finish is available from the standard Australian Dulux powdercoat range.

Global Availability

ATDC’s security gates are now available for sale in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra as well as all regional towns across the country including Newcastle, Geelong, Townsville, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. In addition, the gates are exported internationally throughout South East Asia, the Pacific Islands and The UAE.

Trellis Security Doors Protect Pope in Kenya

Pope Francis’ most recent visit to Kenya was his first visit to the African continent and he was the Roman Catholic Church’s second Pope to visit that country after Pope John Paul II who made three such visits to Kenya. ATDC doors can be seen trusted to protect this high-profile figure.

ATDC Security Showcased in Kenyan Church

What was the event?

During the visit, Pope Francis met the Kenyan President and he held an open mass at Nairobi University including undertaking numerous other activities. In the above photograph he can be seen conducting a religious ceremony on that Kenyan visit whilst in the background the Trellis Security Doors are clearly visibly locked, closed and secure.

Which ATDC doors are on display?
The Trellis Security Doors in full view are the cutting edge S09 Alumax Style retractable aluminium security doors. These security doors are fully framed for extra strength and are extremely robust and secure with a high grade 3 -point locking system and their heavy duty marine grade extruded sections.

With a clear anodised finish and a professional powdercoat application these security doors have an extremely sophisticated finish-the perfect choice security product for the discerning homeowner and business owner.

Why choose these doors?

When unlocked and opened, these security doors retract and fold back to form a neat and compact stacking factor of only 20% of the total opening span that is being secured.

Ideal for both residential applications (often folding back and concealed by blinds or curtains) and also for commercial applications providing an unobtrusive storage area so as not to impede through flow of pedestrian traffic and further to preserve visual display of merchandise in retail applications.

Counter Top Security Screens With Style

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently completed a successful installation of its attractive curved counter top security screens at the Rydges Sails Resort in Port Macquarie. This installation was part of a multimillion-dollar building refurbishment at this stunning bayside location. The screens were specified to complement the stylish and contemporary design of this iconic waterfront destination.

Successful Installation of Curved Counter Top Security Screens at Rydges Sails Resort

Architectural Excellence and Project Management

The specifying architects for the project were Hamilton Hayes Henderson, with Lipman Pty Ltd serving as the project managers. The S08 curved security screen was the chosen product for this application. Browse further technical information on our S08 Stacking Doors.

Why the S08 Curved Security Screen Was the Ideal Choice

The curved security screen was the ideal product for this application given that the counter top had virtually no available headroom to install overhead screens. Additionally, the need to accommodate a tight curved radius made the S08 curved security screen the product of choice since it is capable of achieving tight turns of 90 degrees over a 600mm radius.

Seamless Lock-Up and Easy Operation

Through the use of multiple intermediate up/down locking mechanisms along the span of the opening, a seamless lock-up capability was achieved without the need for utilising any floor tracking to secure the system in its locked position. For more details, see a recent article on ATDC’s curved screens at Kooringal Golf Club.

Heavy-duty industrial-grade top wheels with metal bearings and heavy-duty top hangars ensure a low-friction, smooth, and easy operation of the screens, assisting in retaining the longevity and functional integrity of the door. See a further recent article on our installation at a Healthcare Facility in Sydney.

Custom Finishes and Wide Availability

While the standard stock finishes for this screen are either a black satin or pearl white powdercoat, the special powdercoated finish for this project, as nominated by the architects, was a high-gloss Dulux Venerable Silver.

Smart Folding Doors Rev-Up Ferrari Showroom

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its high-end folding collapsible doors at the Ferrari Showroom at Star City Casino, Sydney.

ATDC Supplies High End Security

Star City Casino Folding Door

The Showroom Project
The job description was essentially to protect the high value merchandise with a smart, elegant, corporate looking collapsible door system that would complement the prestigious Ferrari brand image without costing a fortune.

Providing Bespoke Security

The technical requirements demanded a closure that could span a multi-curved 44 metre wide retail frontage at 3m in height which folded back to occupy a minimum amount of storage space when unlocked and opened during trading hours. And further to provide maximum visual display of the Ferraris during the limited times the shop remains closed.

Our FC1 Wide Panel Folding Doors

ATDC’s FC1 wide panel collapsible closure easily satisfied and even surpassed all these requirements.  The 300mm wide panel door was installed with its heavy duty top track, heavy duty industrial grade top roller wheels and interlocking heavy duty hinges. This provided a low friction, easy operation despite the expansive size of the door.

By utilising multiple intermediate keyed alike up/down locking mechanisms, a seamless lock up is achieved without the need for any cumbersome removable mullions nor any floor tracking. Browse further information about this product.

Luxury Aesthetics

The folding accordion doors at the Ferrari showroom are finished in a professional natural anodised finish which is standard for these doors although a full range of powdercoated options are available on request from the Dulux Range of powdercoated finishes.

SPECTACULAR COMMERCIAL SECURITY SCREENS FOR KOORINGAL GOLF CLUB

The well reputed Kooringal Golf at Altona in Melbourne recently briefed The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) to design and install a 20 metre wide curved commercial security screen to divide a large function room at the golf club.

Function Room Division with Stylish Security Gates

The S08 Curved Commercial Security Screen

ATDC’s S08 curved commercial security screen was installed with architecturally designed special radius curves to suit this application.

Multiple keyed alike up/down keyturn locking mechanisms were fitted which lock a bolt up into the top track and down into the finished floor to achieve seamless lock up. These are keyed alike to the club’s master key system.

The absence of any floor tracking at all removed the potential risks of any trip hazards.

Read this recent article on ATDC’s curved door.

Curved to Suit All Spaces

The elegantly configured lines of this unique curved commercial security screen are ideal to secure curved radius applications including curved shopfronts and office showrooms, curved restaurants, museums and library facades.

The maximum height achievable is 4200mm from ceiling to finished floor. Note that the stock standard radius curve accommodates a 90 degree angle through a 600mm radius turn.

Figure 8 /S-bends are readily achievable where required. Parallel top tracking configurations are also possible for minimising storage size compaction, rendering this the most space efficient commercial security screen currently available on the Australian Market.

Find further information on ATDC’s S07-2 side-by-side stacking security screens online.

Professional Finishes

Whilst the finish of the security screen at Kooringal is in a professional high gloss pearl white powdercoat, ATDC’s alternate standard colour is black satin. Note however that the doors can be colour matched to any fitout environment by virtue of the fact that they can be matched to any finish in the Australian Dulux powdercoat range.

BONDED WAREHOUSING DEMANDS EXPANDABLE FENCING

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has experienced a significant increase in demand for its cutting-edge expandable fencing, particularly for securing bonded warehouse facilities across Australia.

Rising Demand for ATDC’s Expandable Fencing in Bonded Warehouses

Understanding Bonded Warehouses

A bonded warehouse, or customs warehouse, is a highly secured facility closely monitored by Australian customs authorities. It serves as a storage space for dutiable imported goods that are awaiting re-export, release, or assessment and payment of duties and taxes. These goods can undergo various processes, such as cleaning, sorting, or repacking, as long as these processes do not equate to manufacturing. Businesses may re-export the goods without paying duty or withdraw them for local consumption upon paying the applicable duty.

One of the key benefits of using bonded warehouses is the flexibility they offer. Businesses can quickly move imported shipments from the wharf for short-term storage, unpacking, and deconsolidation. This avoids the high storage charges that would otherwise be incurred if shipments were left indefinitely at the arrival port or air terminal.

Security and ATDC’s Expandable Fencing

Security is paramount in bonded warehouses. The warehouse licence holder is responsible for the safe custody and accounting of the goods, under the supervision of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Traditionally, these facilities have been secured with 24-hour security personnel, CCTV cameras, and strict inventory control systems. However, there has been a recent increase in demand for ATDC’s expandable fencing to enhance security further. This fencing allows bonded warehouses to secure loading dock entries and the perimeter of the facility while keeping other entry doors unlocked and open.

Features of ATDC’s Expandable Fencing

ATDC’s expandable fencing is trackless and highly adaptable, ensuring it does not interfere with the controlled movement of freight trucks or forklifts. The fencing is available in standard heights of either 2020mm or 2520mm and is made from high-tensile steel sections with multi-point locking options. The fencing operates on heavy-duty 75mm non-marking rubber wheels, making it easy to maneuver, and it complies with relevant OH&S legislation and Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding. Additionally, it meets the deeming provisions of the BCA for emergency egress, where required.

Purchase and Rental Options

ATDC’s expandable fencing is available for outright purchase or for hire on a short or long-term basis. The fencing is sold in major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Canberra, as well as in regional areas including Newcastle, Geelong, Sunshine Coast, Darwin, Hobart, and Townsville. The product range is also exported to regions across South East Asia, the Asia Pacific, and the Pacific Islands.
