What was the security project?

The project manager for this installation was Dingley Village based shopfitter One68. At ATDC we regularly work with project managers who have hired us over many projects, and who have a high trust level in ATDC to provide the best solutions for their clients. What did we use for the project?

ATDC utilised a special heavy duty galvanised steel overhead Eltrack system that incorporates individual 2-wheel industrial top hangars to carry the weight of this satin black powder-coated bifold security door. 4500mm is the maximum height for these doors.

Available with a perforated mesh or transparent polycarbonate infill, the doors are available up to a maximum height of 4500mm (depending on the application) whilst the span remains limitless. Locking is through a system of up /down and down locking mechanisms whilst emergency breakout doors are available for keyless egress where required under the BCA.

This 4855mm wide x 3500mm high door installed on this job, which was project managed by NRG Projects based in Campbellfield, Victoria.

Manufactured from heavy duty extruded aluminium sections, the door curtain comprised 300mm wide stacking panels and lock up was achieved by multiple up/down locks along the span of the door.

The door on this project was fabricated with a 90-degree curve to a 600mm standard radius.

The project presented very wide spans with both minimal head room and tight storage space availability to stack the screens when unlocked, opened and not in use. Furthermore, the openings have very noticeable sloping floors.

 

What Did We Provide for the Project?

ATDC’s S06 commercial heavy duty security doors provided the ideal solution to these challenges.  Secured with a slimline heavy duty extruded aluminium top track which requires very little overhead clearance supported from a robust top support beam, these doors were installed on a parallel top track.

This configuration reduced the side stacking requirement to a mere 8% of the total span being secured. And a system of self adjusting bottom internal metal inserts allowed the door to traverse the gradient in the floor quite easily.

What did we do for Edmonson Park shopping centre?

The doors supplied by ATDC to the new Edmonson Park shopping centre in southwestern Sydney needed to be functional in their ease of use and ability to provide strong security.

However, aesthetics were top of mind in the project, as a modern look would take away from the heritage appeal of the building. ATDC were entrusted with creating the perfect solution by project managers Regiment Workshop, who contracted out the application of the special finish described in this article.

 

What did we supply?

The doors we created had a copper wash finish applied to give them an older, antique appearance. This finish was applied through a basic rag roll process which is very effective in achieving this copper wash appearance.

ATDC also has a thriving business with its export security doors now being sold throughout South East Asia and the Asia Pacific region (including Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia), as well as to the UAE, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
