This visually impressive and user friendly installation of ATDC’s S08 curved security shutters is completed in a professional black satin powdercoated finish. It spans a width of 9000mm at a height of 4100mm and traverses a 90 degree angle over a 600mm radius curve.

With a series of intermediate up/down locking mechanisms, Kaisercraft is able to achieve a quick and effective seamless lockup without any floor track and without the need for any overly cumbersome removeable mullions. Security like this is ideal for retail sites.

A Tricky Security Challenge Figured Out by ATDC

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has also installed edgy, folding curved security shutters for The Body Shop at Robina Town Centre at the Gold Coast.

A Major Brand

The Body Shop is owned by Brazilian company Natura. It is a global cosmetics, skincare and perfume company and has in excess of 3000 stores in more than 66 countries.

 

ATDC Trusted Throughout Shopping Centres

ATDC’s curved folding security shutters have been specified at multiple tenancies as retail shopfront doors throughout this QIC owned shopping centre. Working closely with well renowned project managers Ramvek, ATDC completed this installation under tight deadlines and with some challenging obstacles. Ramvek have a long history of quality fitouts for many prestigious local and international brands.

 

Challenges from this Project

A primary challenge was the requirement for a special green colour powdercoated finish, which is company policy for all Body Shop stores across the globe. There is no precise Australian Dulux powdercoat equivalent for this special green colour, and hence ATDC could not source this colour locally.

ATDC had to send each individual metal link for the folding security shutters from their Sydney factory down to Ramvek’s Melbourne warehouse to be put through Ramvek’s powdercoating facility to apply the special powdercoat finish. These myriad individual metal components had to then be freighted back to ATDC for reassembly in Sydney. Piece by individual piece!

 

Allowing for Full Customisability

Naturally, this process took some time, creating additional time pressures on ATDC, given the fact that sizing for these folding security shutters had to be determined well in advance of the store being built. Here again, Ramvek’s professionalism came to the fore with their detailed CAD drawings of the planned store design and layout, which were supplied in advance to ATDC.

ATDC had to make further allowances and adjustments (again in advance of obtaining final dimensions) to the height of these shutters since the new store was to have sloping floors, the exact height and gradient of which would only be able to be determined precisely once the finished floor was actually laid.

 

Difficulties Faced with Precision

This created numerous potential difficulties, for example, with being able to achieve effective lock-up of the store since the up/down locking mechanisms had to get sufficient purchase into the floor at various intervals. Extended floor throw bolts were developed by ATDC to achieve up to a 100mm fall in the finished floor level.

A Stunning Result

ATDC was able to perfectly match the special radius curves for these shutters again by following the arc as depicted in Ramvek’s CAD drawings. The final result of the installation of these S08 model curved folding security shutters was quite  incredible. All of the challenging requirements were met and well on time for handover of the store to the customer for trading.

Ideal Security Roller Shutters for a Canteen Servery

The commercial grade shutters on this installation were in excess of 3 metres in width and they were installed under pelmet hoods to structural side support posts.

Supplied in clear anodised, these manually operated shutters are spring loaded with bottom rail key locking facilities for secure lockup.

The project managers for the installation were Waterloo-based Tradies Combined.

Why ATDC’s Folding Door Closures?

These elegant foldaway screens installed at Tarocash were part of ATDC’s market leading range of commercial door closures and featured a polycarbonate infilled screen panel door with aluminium framed extruded sections. The panels were 300mm wide and the door powder coated in a satin black finish with a seamless up/down locking mechanisms.

ATDC’s folding door closures present a modern, luxurious, and effective security system for retail storefronts. With the ease of use for staff, robust security outside opening hours, and their ability to fold right out of the way, these doors are rolling out across many Australian shopping centres.

Quality folding door for B Store Miranda

ATDC has installed another one of its many custom-made quality folding doors for footwear retailer, B Store at Westfields Miranda near Sydney.

 

Project managed by Queensland based Australasian Retail Group, this 300mm wide panel aluminium framed top hung folding door was coated in a clear anodised finish and manufactured to a height of 3300mm.

 

It has been suspended from a heavy gauge extruded aluminium top track which in turn was supported by an overhead superstructure across its full span and certified by the structuralengineer for the project.

 

The heavy-duty industrial grade hangars and support wheels allow this door to fold effortlessly and glide neatly into the concealed storage cupboard at the side of the storefront opening.

The RS7 Clearvision Shutter

These shutters have the latest automation technology with electric operation through security key switch activation externally from the premises. They are also available in a manual option with key lockable security.

RS7 aluminium roller shutters have a clear anodised finish, although the full range of Dulux powder coating finishes is available to suit any colour-matching requirements.

Clearvision rollers have a transparent polycarbonate curtain infill, permitting maximum through vision.
