These doors are appealing for their minimalist design characterized by their simple and uncluttered lines and focusing on their functional integrity as they retract sideways suspended from an extruded aluminium track and folding out of the way and out of sight into a tight and compact stacking area. Their seamless, clean design is complemented by the absence of any floor track or removeable mullions and lock up is achieved by a series of intermediate up/down locking mechanisms. Specs for the Project
The door sizes on this project are 5200mm wide x 3200mm high whilst the maximum span is unlimited, and the maximum height is 4550mm.

This quality constructed, clear anodised, heavy duty, aluminium extruded product was recently installed at the KFC store at Grovedale, which is near Geelong in Victoria.

What Was Needed for KFC?
In this instance a vermin resistant, perforated mesh Infill backing was incorporated into the shutter. This infill has the additional advantages of maximizing air flow and ventilation as well as allowing see through visibility-a truly multi-applicational product which is suitable for projects such as arcades, shopping centre tenancies, servery counter and bar tops, food service areas, restaurants, entrances and doorways, retail stores, clubs, reception areas.
The maximum span of these shutters is 5500mm wide in one section without the need for unwieldy removeable mullions. It is electrically operated with an external key switch for extra security.

This Dulux Duralloy Basalt powder coated 14000 mm wide x 2700mm high door was manufactured using commercial grade extruded aluminium sections. The curtain infill consisted of slimline 150mm wide stacking panels with clear polycarbonate infills which maximise see through visibility
The door closely followed the curvature of the 90 degree curvature of the Leaseline on this project which traversed a 407mm radius.

This product can be made to a maximum height of 4500mm, and the potential span is unlimited. Standard finishes are natural anodized for all aluminium surfaces alternatively a Dulux Duralloy powdercoat.

These steel constructed concertina doors have a distinctive minimalist design and they retract sideways out of the way in a scissor like action into a compact storage area so as to be almost invisible during trading hours. The diagonal metal cross linkages are configured to permit optimum ventilation and through vision through the mesh infill of the doors. Further unique advantages are the absence of any need for any overhead headroom and there is a removable floor track to eliminate any trip hazards during trading. There was no easy method of securing this tenancy since there was no adequate structure to support the installation of traditional top hung door systems. A servery counter installed in the path of the lease line at one end of the storefront provided additional challenges. ATDC were able to overcome these apparent difficulties through the installation of trackless expandable gates which did not require any structural supports and so provided the level of security required by the customer. Wall mounted locking was a method to secure the systems together with intermediate drop bolts installed along the span of the gates.

Independently NATA tested, it complies with the Simulated Climbing Test, Foothold Aperture Test and Dynamic Impact Tests of the Australian Standards in certain circumstances, and it is Australia’s only OH+S compliant safety tested barrier, thereby making it safe for both employees and the general public. ATDC provides its customers with a full set of safe operational instructions in the deployment of these mobile, trackless, portable gates.
These are all important factors that should be considered when contemplating an expandable gate purchase rather than simply chasing a bargain basement price point. And ATDC’s gate is also cost effective.

The S03™ and S06™ trellis doors passed this test by withstanding a force of 450N being applied to its locking style. i.e. the same effect as an intruder attempting to lever open our 3-point locking system.
The S03™ and S06™ trellis doors passed this test by withstanding a repeated impact force of 100 joules from a 40kg lead ball i.e. the same effect as an intruder attempting to kick his way through the security door.
