ATDC has recently installed its steel security doors and screens https://www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/s06-concertina-security-shutters at the recent Port Augusta Railway Station Security Upgrade project for the Department of Infrastructure. This is a well-known heritage listed landmark property about 4 hours outside Adelaide.

ATDC installed these pearl white powder coated  doors in a bi-parting overhead tracking configuration which significantly reduced  the storage stacks  of these  doors at either side of the openings being secured.

Each opening on this project required 3300mm high doors whereas the maximum possible height is 4550mm and the maximum span is unlimited.

ATDC’s doors are frequently specified for use by leading architectural firms on government and public infrastructure projects across Australia.

The doors installed on this project were supplied in a standard satin black Powder coated finish. Pearl white is another standard finish although any other Dulux powder coated finishes are achievable

ROLLER SHUTTER SPECIFICATIONS

The aluminium extruded roller shutter on this project is electric operated with a key switch control on the external for extra security ,and is in a clear anodised finish.

The curtain infill consists of a transparent clear polycarbonate material interconnected with extruded aluminium joiner bars. Only the best quality locally sourced materials are used in the manufacturing process.

What Did We Specify for the Resort?

Designed for maximum ventilation and through vision, three (3) manually operated, spring counter balanced security shutters were installed with key lockable security features.

All aluminium components were powder-coated in a Black Dulux Duralloy coating, presenting a top-quality finished product.

Sizing was approximately 2200mm wide x 2700mm high for each of these shutters. The maximum possible span of these shutters is 5500mm wide in one section without the need for unwieldy removable mullions for the electrically operated version.

What Did We Install for this Shopping Centre

In this post are project photographs for three of these installations namely for Harry Hartog Booksellers (project managed by NSW based Belway Constructions), for Hype (project managed by Victoria based NRG Projects) and for Stylerunner (project managed by QLD based LSC Shopfitting Australia).

Both Harry Hartog and Hype have their folding doors finished in a striking black duralloy powdercoated finish. The Harry Hartog door has the additional feature of an emergency breakout door, which permits emergency egress according to the relevant BCA regulations.

What did We Do?

Project manager for the installation was Dewhurst Building Services Pty Ltd,  based in Bayswater.

The smart range is a delight for both end users and specifiers alike in that they can resolve many challenging installation applications where other security barrier systems would simply not work as effectively.

Some of these unique advantages include the following:

1) They require very little headroom and are suspended from a slimline 40mm heavy duty extruded aluminium overhead track (which requires an overhead support beam) thereby requiring only minimal headroom as compared to roll up shutters

2) They can be manufactured with removeable floor track or alternatively with recessed floor track so that there is no potential trip hazard. A further alternative is to supply the system with no floor tracking at all as in the case of the Clifton Hill installation above and instead using intermediate up/down locks along the span of the system and so providing seamless lock up without any floor tracking.

3) Curved configurations can be achieved to follow curved or angled leaselines-the maximum radius is a 90 degree bend over a 600mm radius turn.

4) The span of these doors can be limitless allowing lock up over massive widths without the need for any cumbersome removeable mullions

5) They can be manufactured with pivoting,hinge-aside stack back sections so as not to obstruct the active leaseline at all and so are a merchandiser’s dream

6) They can be fabricated on multiple tandem parallel top tracks to minimise the side compaction and thereby reducing the storage space once folded back to an absolute minimum

7) They can be made to comply in certain circumstances with the emergency egress provisions of the BCA.

8) They can comply in certain circumstances with the Anti-jemmy, Pull and Dynamic Impact Testing Requirements under Australian Standard 5039.

9) Through Vision and ventilation are key advantages of these screens and they also optimise the extent of the merchandise on display both during trading hours and overnight.

10) And they are often called up and specified by architects for heritage building applications.

ATDC has installed its folding security doors commercial S08 curved folding security door to secure the curved entry to the shopfront tenancy for Best Bazaar at Epping Plaza at Epping near Melbourne.

Project Design Specifications

The custom engineered curved folding security door on this project is an expansive 11000mm wide x 3100mm high in dimension. The door once unlocked and opened, folds to one side and curves 90 degrees in a 600mm radius to fold neatly and compactly parallel to the side wall of the tenancy so as not to obstruct the free opening width of the shopfront tenancy. Seamless lock up was achieved through a series of intermediate up/down locks without the need for any floor track to secure the tenancy.

Project managers on this project was Victoria based Vui 360 Pty Ltd and the door was specified by the shopping centre owner QIC who have also specified this door on a number of other tenancies at this same shopping centre.

In this instance a vermin resistant, perforated mesh Infill backing was incorporated into the shutter. This infill has the additional advantages of maximizing air flow and ventilation as well as allowing see through visibility-a truly multi-applicational product which is suitable for projects such as arcades, shopping centre tenancies, servery counter and bar tops, food service areas, restaurants, entrances and doorways, retail stores, clubs, reception areas.
