Copper Wash finish adds to heritage appeal of Commercial Folding Doors

ATDC’s commercial folding doors are frequently specified and  installed on heritage buildings in Australia.  They  are generally regarded as enhancing  the aesthetic appeal that preserves the older style look of these older, historical structures.

Some recent doors supplied by ATDC to the new Edmonson Park shopping centre in southwestern Sydney had a copper wash finish applied to give them an older, antique appearance.  This finish is applied through a basic rag roll process which is very effective in achieving this copper wash appearance.  The project managers for this job were Regiment workshop who contracted out the application of the special finish described in this article.

Commercial Folding Closures now with Emergency Egress Facility

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently installed its premium grade 300mm panel folding closure door to secure the storefront of Glue Store at Charlestown. The commercial folding closure was fitted with an emergency egress facility.

Glue Store is a national Australian retailer selling well known clothing, footwear and accessories from well known international and local brands such as Stussy, Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Champion and many more.

Powdercoated black and installed with a heavy duty extruded top track attached directly to structural supports above, the door included an emergency breakout door for egress  compliance with the BCA. This was required as the closure had been installed in an entry designated for emergency exit. The breakout door operates with a lever handle from the inside of the premises which allows for quick keyless egress. The breakout door hinges outwards on activation of the lever handle.

Quality commercial folding closure secures General Pants Craigieburn

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently installed its premium grade folding closure to the main entry  at the new General Pants store which opened in Craigieburn, Victoria.

Powdercoated in a black finish, this 300mm wide panel folding door spanned a width of 3400mm. It operates through a series of industrial grade top support hangars which run from a heavy duty extruded top track. The top track is suspended from  a continuous top structural support 3500mm from the finished floor. An up/down lock each end and a down lock in the centre of the closure facilitated seamless lock up without the need for any floor track or removeable mullions.

The photograph shows a recent installation for Bankstown City Netball Association at their grounds in Condell Park,NSW,where the NSW Office of Sport funded the purchase of these concertina security shutters to lock of the  Association’s BBQ area.The shutters have proven an immense success in preventing vagrants  from sleeping in the enclosed area with all the previous negative consequences including theft and damage to the goods and property.Furthermore the screens alleviate the expense of having to  constantly clean the area which was previously open to anyone to enter.When unlocked and open the screens  fold  back and pivot flat against the side walls completely out of the way so as to be almost invisible.
