Commercial Roller Grille Installation

The Australian Trellis Door Company™ (ATDC™) ’s commercial roller grilles can be operated manually assisted by torsion springs or they can be electrically operated.

In the latter case the roller grilles can be operated by key switch control again increasing the security features of the grille. Remote control features are a further option.

The motors used are tubular in nature fitting inside the compact axle of the roller grille and so reduces the diameter of the roll providing an advantage in the case of installations where the headroom is limited.

The aluminium components of these commercial roller grilles are available in a clear anodised finish as a standard Powder coating options are an extra over that will allow the grilles to blend into almost any interior or exterior environment.

Added applications for these commercial roller grilles include securing shopping centres, counter tops, reception areas, alcoves, banks, car parks, delivery docks, canteens, schools, offices, commercial showrooms. For further applications and options visit our information page here.

These commercial roller grilles can span 4 metres in one section and through the use of removable mullions can span an unlimited width.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary advantage of using security roller grilles for liquor store shopfronts?

Roller grilles are highly effective for retail environments because they provide a robust security deterrent while allowing for continuous through-visibility and airflow, which ensures the store interior remains visible and ventilated even when closed.

Do roller grilles with open designs cause more dust or dirt to enter a retail space compared to solid shutters?

Roller grill designs will allow more dust and dirt than solid shutters

Are there different versions of security roller grilles depending on how much visibility or protection you need?

Yes. The RS9 Rolling Security Grille is available in both standard and premium versions. In the premium version, the metal tubes are covered with a nylon sleeve.

How do you keep the rolled-up grille out of sight when headroom is limited in a shopping centre?

An optional extra you may wish to consider is a slimline pelmet box enabling the full roll to be hidden from sight. Another option is to consider recessing the overhead drum into the ceiling above the opening or even to look at other alternative door systems such as folding closures or trellis doors or even glass stackable doors which slide to the side on an overhead track and require minimal headroom.
