The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) ‘s latest addition to its suite of quality commercial and industrial doors includes its new high impact resistant traffic door TD001 which has been launched initially for the Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane and Canberra markets. The launch of these new doors confirms ATDC’s intent to diversify further into the Australian industrial door market.

Traffic doors provide a barrier between two areas. They are designed to be opened by impact. They can close automatically from either direction.  They open from either direction as they are impacted by trolleys, pallet jacks, forklifts and they can be made as either single or double doors.

Traffic doors speed up the movement of people and stock between parts of a building as they avoid the need to stop, open, move through and manually close like traditional door types.  After passing through, the door automatically swings closed.

These double action 180 degree swing doors are ideal for industrial and commercial applications that are exposed to high traffic flows including coldrooms, supermarkets, retails stores, commercial kitchens,Pharma labs, hospitals, surgeries, workshops and warehouses. The traffic doors are heavy duty and with their high density PU foam core and optional double glazed polycarbonate window (with its fully moulded gasket seal),these doors are an effective temperature control tool and are an ideal means to keep out  dust, insects and other airborne nuisances.Optional features include either kick plates or teardrop bumpers which are available in a black, grey or yellow finish. The kick plates are available in stainless steel or polyethalene. And the doors  are virtually maintenance free.

The traffic doors  are customized to suit each application with maximum sizes at 3000mm wide x 3000mm high. They have an anodised aluminium door stile with the option of powdercoating the frames. For further technical information see ATDC’s website at .

The Australian Trellis Door Co’s (ATDC) double diamond concertina security shutter is a revelation. It is not a frequent occurrence that a truly new and innovative  security shutter is launched on  the Australian commercial door market.

The double diamond concertina security shutter is sheer class-it has a dual pivot rotation  as well as a  concertina folding action all  in one depending on your site requirements. It offers both through vision and ventilation whilst also limiting a person’s ability to reach through the screen mesh to reach merchandise or stock secured behind it.A great loss prevention tool. And it lends itself to compliance with the BCA for egress in emergency. And to top things off this versatile screen complies with the stringent Temporary Fencing and Hoarding provisions of the Australian Standards for each of dynamic impact, foothold aperture and no simulated climbing/anti-tip testing. The screen is fabricated from heavy duty steel sections,it is robust, lockable  and secure and is of sound engineering design. For further product information refer to ATDC’s website at

The photograph shows a recent installation for Bankstown City Netball Association at their grounds in Condell Park,NSW,where the NSW Office of Sport funded the purchase of these concertina security shutters to lock of the  Association’s BBQ area. The shutters have proven an immense success in preventing vagrants  from sleeping in the enclosed area with all the previous negative consequences including theft and damage to the goods and property.Furthermore the screens alleviate the expense of having to  constantly clean the area which was previously open to anyone to enter. When unlocked and open the screens  fold  back and pivot flat against the side walls completely out of the way so as to be almost invisible.

ATDC’s concertina security shutters are now sold in Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Adelaide,Perth,Canberra, and in all regional areas across the country including Newcastle,Geelong,Sunshine and Gold Coast Areas,Hobart,Darwin. They are also exported to the UAE,SouthEast Asia,The Asia Pacific Region and the Pacific Islands.

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has pioneered a triple track commercial bifold door system which achieves  major storage space advantages for its customers.

At a  recent commercial fitout project  for Natalie Marie Jewellery at Avalon in Sydney,Annandale based interior architect X+O specified an S07-2 side-by-side parallel top track arrangement for ATDC’s commercial bifold door at the front of the retail store. The design intent was to minimize the side stacking depth of the door in order to provide maximum retail frontage for the client. For further product information and technical details refer to ATDC’s website at

Once on site, the project manager LJW Building was faced with even further door storage space limitations and required a maximum stack depth of 8% of the shopfront span.To achieve this ATDC installed its bifold door in a  triple top track configuration. The door stack achieved was just 450mm over a 5700mm shopfront opening span.An incredible achievement .And so vital  for retailers and other commercial businesses trying to squeeze every possible square metre of trading space with their expensive property rentals.

The triple track system offers seamless lock up with a series of intermittent up/down locking mechanisms and without the need for any floor track nor any removeable  mullions. The attached image shows clearly the set-up of this successful recent installation.

ATDC’s commercial bifold doors are now sold in Sydney,Melbourne,Perth,Brisbane,Canberra and Adelaide as well as in all regional centres across the country including Darwin,Townsville,Hobart,Geelong,Newcastle,Sunshine and Gold Coast regions. They are also being exported throughout South East Asia,The Asia Pacific,The PACIFIC Islands and the UAE.
