Australian Trellis Door Co (ATDC™) has recently installed its FC1 bifold doors closures at the new WH Smith store at Sydney International Airport.
WH Smith is a British based global retailer of books, stationery, newspapers, magazines and entertainment products and employs over 14 thousand staff in over 1400 locations around the globe.
ATDC’s bi-fold doors were ideal in this application given the massive size of WH Smith’s storefront (totalling nearly 53 lineal metres) with its irregular curved shapes, sloping floors and the requirement for ventilation which in this case was provided by the perforated metal finish of the screen which permitted maximum airflow. Lexan, Polycarbonate, aluminium or even tempered glass are other optional finishes.
ATDC’s bi-fold doors have the added advantaged that they can span these large apertures without the need for both cumbersome removable mullions and costly motorization options. Further, the folding doors can accommodate difficult potential obstructions such as multi-level counters and counter cut-outs. And the further option of having emergency egress doors within the folding door allows for BCA compliance where necessary.
ATDC’s folding doors can be installed as either internal bi-fold doors or even external bifold doors to commercial premises as required according to each application making them extremely versatile. These folding doors are available in a natural anodised finish or they can be custom powdercoated and colour coordinated to blend in with almost any colour scheme.
