The very large screen, measuring 14 metres wide by 3.7 metres high, was designed to traverse two different radius turns to conform with the curvature of the building. The curved trellis door spans an impressive 22 metres in width and stands 3500mm high. Designed to navigate a 600mm radius curve through a 90-degree angle, the door combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. Its innovative design achieves lockup through intermediate up/down locking mechanisms, eliminating the need for floor tracking.

 

Designed for Seamless Integration

This installation was tailored to meet the specific requirements of the Edmonson Park shopping centre, ensuring both security and a sleek design. The door seamlessly integrates into the shopping centre’s architecture, providing robust security without compromising on style.

The installation was expertly project-managed by Chipping Norton-based TD Shopfitting, with design specifications provided by Urban Design Concepts. This project was managed by Rouse Hill-based shopfitter Beads & Sawdust. he clear anodised 300mm panel door was installed over a special radius curve to match the particular curvature of this storefront.

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently supplied its S08 curved security door for a unique project managed by Harris HMC, based in North Melbourne. Specified by Ian McEwan Designs of Surrey Hills, Victoria, this project showcased ATDC’s ability to deliver customised security solutions for commercial spaces.

 

Custom Design and Features

The S08 curved security door for this project measured approximately 9 metres wide and 3200mm high, finished in an elegant satin black powdercoat. A key feature of the installation was the door’s ability to traverse a 90-degree turn, which was achieved through a 600mm curved radius. This design required careful planning and precision engineering, with the entire span supported from above by a structural support beam that followed the contours of the opening.

 

Innovative Locking Mechanism

One of the standout features of this S08 security door installation was the absence of a floor track. Without floor tracking, lock-up security was maintained through a series of multiple intermediate up/down locking mechanisms. This provided a seamless, effective lock-up solution while maintaining the door’s aesthetic appeal and smooth operation.

Versatile Security Doors For Counters, Serveries and Reception Desks

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) ‘s versatile security doors are an ideal method of securing the often difficult contours of angled bench tops, counter tops, serveries and reception areas.

 

ATDC recently installed its curved steel security door to suit the hexagonal shaped bar counter at the Skyring Terrace’s Haven Kiosk at Newstead in QLD. 

 

Architecturally specified by TwoHill & James of Fortitude Valley, QLD, this unique  folding security door was configured in a curved format with four off 600mm corner radius curves.

 

The door was designed without the use of any floor track and is instead secured by a series of intermediate up/down locks and commercial grade patio bolts to facilitate seamless lock up without the need for any cumbersome removable mullions. A professional high gloss pearl white powder coat finish was applied to the door for this project. 

 

Project managers for the job were Lamberts of Coopers Plains.
