ATDC’s S08 curved security doors are proving to be increasingly popular in the Australian commercial marketplace for both specifiers, developers, landlords and other property owners.
These robust steel sliding curved security shutters which are suspended from a heavy duty support track and can be arched around a 90 degree angle through a 600mm radius are proving to be very effective to secure curved shaped apertures such as counter tops, reception areas, serveries, restaurants and cafes, hotel and office lobbies and many more. S- shaped configurations are also achievable. They are ideal for ventilation and free flow of fresh air.
Through a series of updown locking mechanisms a user friendly seamless lockup solution is offered to customers. Available up to a height of 4100mm,the potential span is unlimited. The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) recently participated in the upgrade project to the existing library at Deakin University (Burwood Campus) where it installed its curved security door to the after-hour canteen.
ATDC’s S08 curved security door was specified by Ian McEwan Designs of Surrey Hills, Victoria and the project managers for the job were North Melbourne based Harris HMC.
The specified door was approximately 9m wide x 3200mm high and finished in a satin black powdercoat. It traversed a 90 degree turn through a 600mm curved radius and was supported from above by a structural support beam which followed the entire length of the span and the contours of the opening.
The door had no floor tracking and so lock up was achieved through a series of multiple intermediate up/down locking mechanisms to achieve a seamless security solution.

Architecturally specified by TwoHill & James of Fortitude Valley, QLD, this unique folding security door was configured in a curved format with four off 600mm corner radius curves .The door was designed without the use of any floor track and is instead secured by a series of intermediate up/down locks and commercial grade patio bolts to facilitate seamless lock up without the need for any cumbersome removeable mullions. A professional high gloss pearl white powdercoat finish was applied to the door for this project.
