SPACE EFFICIENT SECURITY DOORS SPECIFIED AT RMIT UNIVERSITY PROJECT

Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC)’s premium grade security doors were recently installed at a prestigious project at Melbourne’s RMIT University,(project managed by Lendlease).

The  designers for the project,Lyons Architects, specified both ATDC’s S06 heavy duty concertina security door as well as ATDC’s  S04-1 DD Double Diamond Mesh portable security barrier to different parts of the same project.

The S06 concertina security door was specified and installed to numerous locations on this project including over the canteen area  where it spanned a very wide 13 metre opening.Further, there was extremely restricted headroom due to numerous overhead services and the available daylight opening height was  quite limited at  1200mm  .In this application the S06 concertina security door was ideal for a number of reasons. This door requires no headroom at all as it runs off a heavy duty extruded slimline aluminium top track (suspended by an overhead support beam). The S06  retracts and folds sideways to occupy just  a negligible amount of storage room at only 15% of the overall span being secured.(In fact this door can also be set out as a parallel (side by side) top track configuration which requires only an 8% storage factor-this is known as the S07-2 model door refer to www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/scissor-doors-s07-2) ).Moreover, by using a series of intermediate up/down locking mechanisms the client was able to achieve seamless lock up without the need for any bottom  track (removeable or otherwise) to the counter top area and without the need for any cumbersome and unwieldy removeable mullions. For further information on ATDC’s security rated folding security door visit ATDC’s website on www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/s06-concertina-security-shutters

In a different location on this same project ATDC’s S04-1 DD deluxe grade Double Diamond mesh portable security barrier was specified and installed to the university’s rubbish bin storage and bin wash area.In this  instance this trackless  product was ideal since the existence of numerous services prevented any other type of structural door system from being installed. The barrier is portable and free standing and accordingly was an ideal solution for the client. The double diamond mesh meant a very robust  barrier was supplied that could withstand the considerable impact and force it is subjected to in this bin storage area. Also folding and retracting sideways on to itself resulting in only  a minimal storage space requirement. And with both floor and wall mounted locking options an optimal security solution was provided.Further the pitch between the metal cross linkages on this door is only 65mm.This prevents anybody being able to gain a foothold and so deters persons from climbing  over this door –one of its complying characteristics with the Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding. For further information on ATDC’s double diamond barrier in other applications refer to an article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/atdc-installs-safety-barriers-at-new-ferry-terminal-in-sydney

NEW HEAVY DUTY SECURITY ROLLER SHUTTERS INSTALLED AT PRESTIGIOUS MORIAH COLLEGE

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its latest heavy-duty security roller shutters at the prestigious Moriah College, a leading private school in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

ATDC’s Latest Installation at Moriah College

RS6 High Density Security Roller Shutters

These quality RS6 high-density security roller shutters are complete with slimline overhead pelmet boxes and span six metres in one section without the need for unwieldy removable mullions. Working closely with project managers Northcliff Construction Group, ATDC installed these high-grade roll-formed roller shutters with their 77mm gauge heavy profile in a white powder-coated finish to blend in with the surrounding décor of the school premises. (A full powder-coat range is available to match the Dulux range.)

Advanced Features and Safety Precautions

Electrically operated with secure key switch operation, ATDC installed parachute safety brakes as an operational precaution given the large sizes of the shutters in a school location. The shutters can also be remote-controlled for ease of convenience where this is a requirement by utilising high-tech satellite motors, satellite transmitters, and receivers. The shutters were installed with partly solid slats as well as some punched slats in order to achieve the necessary ventilation and free flow of air required for the application. Read on for further technical information.

Unique Advantages of the RS6 Shutters

ATDC’s RS6 High Density security roller shutter is the only security roller shutter on the Australian market with an enclosed pelmet box that can span such wide expanses in a single span. This is both an operational and cost-saving advantage for the customer. It also saves the customer from the cost of building in expensive bulkheads to conceal the otherwise unsightly open overhead roll. For further applications, read the article.

COMPACT SECURITY GATES FOR REPCO PENRITH

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its high grade S06 security gates to secure the shopfront at Repco Penrith.

Repco is one of Australasia’s 25 most recognized brands. With in excess of 400 stores in Australia and New Zealand and employing more than 2000 staff,Repco is Australia’s largest reseller and supplier in the automotive parts and accessories aftermarket.

Working closely with Repco’s specifying architects as well as shopfitter Storebuild Pty Ltd out of Melbourne,ATDC were tasked with the challenge of designing a security gate solution that was compact and space efficient when unlocked and opened for trade .This security gate had to fold back and occupy a side storage area which was only 6% of the opening span of the shopfront.

ATDC’s design engineers were able to offer up their innovative side- by- side parallel top track configuration  which literally halved the normal stacking sizes of their security gates.Further, by designing the doors in a bi-parting double leaf arrangement ATDC was able to neatly resolve the limited storage space challenge.By utilizing a series of intermediate up/down locking mechanisms which alleviated the need for any floor tracks,a seamless lock up solution was provided.  ( www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/scissor-doors-s07-2 )

In addition ATDC are also able to offer up their unique side-by-side configuration for curved and angled  shopfronts as well straight-line applications and this provides customers with further innovative design options when considering maximizing visual display of merchandise for their retail stores. The maximum curve/angle that is operationally achievable  is a 90 degree turn  through a 600mm radius curve.  (See article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/prestigious-new-installation-for-DFS-Group  )

ATDC’s compact security gates are available in standard black satin and white pearl powdercoated finishes although any finish is available from the standard Australian Dulux powdercoat range.

ATDC’s security gates are now available for sale in Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Adelaide,Perth and Canberra as well as all regional towns across the country including Newcastle,Geelong,Townville,Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast .In addition the gates are exported throughout South East Asia,The Pacific Islands and The UAE. PORTABLE EXPANDING BARRICADES FOR WOOLWORTHS METRO STORES

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has recently installed its portable expanding barricades to the Woolworths metro store at Armadale, an inner city suburb of Melbourne.(image attached)

This installation was a  prototype application to secure Woolworths’  liquor aisles with a portable expanding barricade that would deter  persons from being able to reach the bottles of alcohol through the barricade or alternatively if they were indeed able to reach through the barrier then to prevent them being able to pass bottles of alcohol through it.The results were successful and the barricade is serving its purpose as a powerful loss prevention tool reducing both theft and shrinkage. This is addition to its dual purpose function of ensuring that  the licensee is compliant with the prevailing state liquor licensing legislation.

ATDC ‘s S04-1 DD (Double Diamond) mesh portable expanding barricade was the product of choice for this interesting  Armadale application with its tightly interwoven mesh creating a narrow 65mm pitch between the metal cross linkages making it extremely  difficult to reach through the barrier. The black powdercoated barrier at Armadale is 2020mm high and has a seamless  floor mounted locking arrangement to secure the installation ie rather than attaching and locking  the barrier to the aisle structure itself-the floor mounted locking mechanism has  a surface mounted laser cut stainless steel floor plate to which the barrier engages at each end and locks.During trading hours the trackless, portable barricade is wheeled away on heavy duty non marking rubber bottom castors to back of house for storage completely out of sight. For further information on the double diamond mesh barricade visit www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/barriers-and-cafe-barriers/safety-barriers-s04-1dd

The double diamond mesh portable expanding barricade has been tested for safety under the latest OH+S legislation and it has also been tested by an independent NATA testing authority for compliance with numerous provisions of the Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoardings AS 4687-2007,namely for dynamic impact, simulated climbing and foothold aperture tests, having passed these tests successfully. The successful testing also confirms this steel fabricated product’s characteristics as being rigid, formidable and strong yet extremely easy to operate.

ATDC is already installing these  barricades  to other members of the Woolworths organization including both BWS and Dan Murphy’s liquor stores.See article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/bws-select-quality-portable-fencing

ATDC’s double diamond mesh barriers have the added advantage of being compliant under certain circumstances with the emergency exit provisions of the BCA-See article at www.trellisdoors.com.au/our-retractable-security-doors-comply-with-deemed-to-satisfy-provisions-of-the-bca

ATDC’s portable expanding barricades are now sold in Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Perth,Adelaide and Canberra as well as in all regional centres across the country including Darwin,Townsville,Sunshine Coast,Gold Coast,Newcastle,Wollongong and Geelong. These barricades are now also being successfully exported to South East Asia,The Asia Pacific region,The Pacific Islands and the UAE.See www.trellisdoors.com.au/export/singapore

SPECTACULAR COMMERCIAL SECURITY SCREENS FOR KOORINGAL GOLF CLUB

The well reputed Kooringal Golf at Altona in Melbourne recently briefed The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) to design and install a  20 metre wide curved commercial security screen to divide  a large function room at the golf club.

ATDC’s S08 curved commercial security screen was installed with architecturally designed special radius curves to suit this application.Multiple keyed alike up/down keyturn locking mechanisms were fitted which lock a bolt up into the top track and down into the finished floor to achieve seamless lock up and  keyed alike  to the club’s master key system. And the absence of any floor tracking at all removed the potential risks of any trip hazards. For a recent article on ATDC’s curved door please refer to ATDC’s website at www.trellisdoors.com.au/atdc-completes-expanding-door-installation-for-healthcare-facility-in-sydney

The elegantly configured lines of this unique curved commercial security screen are ideal to secure curved radius applications including curved shopfronts and office showrooms, curved restaurants ,museums and library facades –maximum height achievable is 4200mm from ceiling to finished floor.Note that the stock standard radius curve accommodates  a 90 degree angle through a 600mm radius turn. And figure 8 /S-bends are readily achievable where required.Parallel top tracking configurations are also possible  for minimizing storage size compaction rendering this the most space efficient commercial security screen currently available on the Australian Market. For further information on ATDC’s S07-2 side-by-side stacking security screens visit their website at www.trellisdoors.com.au/product/commercial-security/security-screens-and-screen-doors/scissor-doors-s07-2

Whilst the finish of the security screen at Kooringal is in a professional high gloss pearl white powdercoat,ATDC’s alternate standard colour is  black satin.Note however that  the doors can be colour matched to any fitout environment  by virtue of the fact that they can be matched to any finish  in  the Australian Dulux powdercoat range .

This premium grade commercial security screen is now available for sale in Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane,Adelaide,Perth and Canberra as well as all regional towns across the country such as Darwin,Hobart,Townsville,Newcastle,Geelong and it is currently being exported to South East Asia,The Asia Pacific region,Pacific Islands and the UAE.For further information on ATDC’s growing export business see ATDC’s website at www.trellisdoors.com.au/export/singapore

BONDED WAREHOUSING DEMANDS EXPANDABLE FENCING

The Australian Trellis Door Company (ATDC) has experienced a significant increase in demand for its cutting-edge expandable fencing, particularly for securing bonded warehouse facilities across Australia.

Rising Demand for ATDC’s Expandable Fencing in Bonded Warehouses

Understanding Bonded Warehouses

A bonded warehouse, or customs warehouse, is a highly secured facility closely monitored by Australian customs authorities. It serves as a storage space for dutiable imported goods that are awaiting re-export, release, or assessment and payment of duties and taxes. These goods can undergo various processes, such as cleaning, sorting, or repacking, as long as these processes do not equate to manufacturing. Businesses may re-export the goods without paying duty or withdraw them for local consumption upon paying the applicable duty.

One of the key benefits of using bonded warehouses is the flexibility they offer. Businesses can quickly move imported shipments from the wharf for short-term storage, unpacking, and deconsolidation. This avoids the high storage charges that would otherwise be incurred if shipments were left indefinitely at the arrival port or air terminal.

Security and ATDC’s Expandable Fencing

Security is paramount in bonded warehouses. The warehouse licence holder is responsible for the safe custody and accounting of the goods, under the supervision of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Traditionally, these facilities have been secured with 24-hour security personnel, CCTV cameras, and strict inventory control systems. However, there has been a recent increase in demand for ATDC’s expandable fencing to enhance security further. This fencing allows bonded warehouses to secure loading dock entries and the perimeter of the facility while keeping other entry doors unlocked and open.

Features of ATDC’s Expandable Fencing

ATDC’s expandable fencing is trackless and highly adaptable, ensuring it does not interfere with the controlled movement of freight trucks or forklifts. The fencing is available in standard heights of either 2020mm or 2520mm and is made from high-tensile steel sections with multi-point locking options. The fencing operates on heavy-duty 75mm non-marking rubber wheels, making it easy to maneuver, and it complies with relevant OH&S legislation and Australian Standards for Temporary Fencing and Hoarding. Additionally, it meets the deeming provisions of the BCA for emergency egress, where required.

Purchase and Rental Options

ATDC’s expandable fencing is available for outright purchase or for hire on a short or long-term basis. The fencing is sold in major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Canberra, as well as in regional areas including Newcastle, Geelong, Sunshine Coast, Darwin, Hobart, and Townsville. The product range is also exported to regions across South East Asia, the Asia Pacific, and the Pacific Islands.
